What's in the Toolkit??

Wow, I am so thankful to Yvette for creating this amazing literacy toolkit. I loved how easy it was to access and how it was organized by 5 modules. The videos with examples and explanations really added to the value. The resources are all really easy to use, and most are printout ready and can be used when you’re in a pinch. I can’t wait to put the French alphabet mouth pictures in my class, use "Les phrases pyramides" in small groups and add the "Lance et Lis" into my weekly literacy centres.
Frequently Asked Questions
This toolkit contains activities and resources to work on French oral, reading and writing skills, with the emphasis on decoding, and oral activities. The activities are engaging, hands on and fun, encouraging students to speak, move, sing, chant in partners, small group, whole group or even at home with family.
Yes, all instructions that students see are in French and except for a few exceptions, all the instructions for teachers are in French.
This is difficult to answer because I do not know the background of your students. For example, students NEED to know the letter sounds before they can start to decode and encode so it makes sense to have that as Module 1. However, as soon as your students know the letter sounds for some letters, they can also do some activities in Module 5 (écriture). If you teach French Immersion, you will want to build up their vocabulary so I suggest doing some activities with the poems and tongue twisters orally first.
Yes! These activities are very much aligned with the Science of Reading. You can use your own scope and sequence and pick and choose when to add which activities and in your class.
Yes! You may contact me via email or in the private Facebook group for this toolkit.
These activities should be perfect for grades primary-1. Many teachers use some of my fairly similar existing resources for grades 2 and up also. Especially in a second language class and/or with children who have not mastered the basics and need more practice, these will be super helpful. Resource teachers will love using these with many grade levels!
Yes! If you already use some of my resources, you know that differentiation is certainly a priority. You will appreciate the many opportunities to differentiate.
Yes! Adding these to your daily routine, no matter what approach you are using, will be a great addition to your literacy instruction. During my last several years as a grade 1 teacher, I used balanced literacy and I also was a reading recovery specialist. I felt that something was missing and I only wish that I could have had these resources to enhance what I was doing. I hear from teachers who are still using balanced literacy, while trying to slowly make some changes and they really feel that activities like these are exactly what they need to get started. Just add these and have fun and enjoy watching your students progress!
Is it not exciting to start the year off with a bang!? You want your students to go home those first few weeks and say “I love school! I love my new teacher because we do fun activities and it is not boring! We play games and we sing and do physical activity to practice reading!” By grabbing this resource now, you will be able to get organized, deciding which activities to do the first few weeks, knowing you have tons of included resources to get you through the year. And the best part is…you will see your students’ literacy skills improve immensely by using these activities as a follow-up to your explicit teaching. Now is the time to get things set up for the new school year with these NO PREP/LOW PREP activities!
No, teachers use different scopes and sequences when it comes to teaching letter sounds, etc. It would be impossible to have one that would meet everyone’s needs. It will be very easy for you to pick and choose and decide in what order to use the contents of the toolkit.
All contents of the toolkit are copyrighted by myself. The person who purchases this toolkit is the only one who can use it and it is to be used with the buyer’s students. Part of the resource can be sent home occasionally so students can share/work with family.
Most certainly! They just need to contact me for a special price.
Yes! Although the directions are in French, several resources are accompanied by short live videos showing the resource in action by students. You might want to use these as extra support during the year or in the summer months. If you do not understand the instructions due to the language, you can contact me in the private Facebook Group or by email.
Great news for Canadians! You pay in Canadian funds! With the dollar the way it is now, this is a huge advantage compared to buying from Teachers Pay Teachers. No US exchange!
Due to the digital nature of the toolkit and the immediate access to all the resources provided inside, there are no refunds.
Except for a few exceptions, I created these activities specifically for this Toolkit and they are not available in my Teachers Pay Teachers or anywhere else. You do get an AMAZING deal by purchasing the complete toolkit, as there are more than $300 worth of resources!
Yvette's new program has been a game-changer in my classroom! She has truly thought of it all. A huge bonus are the videos that show realistic students and the teacher, demonstrating all of the activities. There are many print resources and they are all available in one spot. No more time is wasted searching for the perfect fit. Yvette has made sure to have diverse images that reflect the real world and our classrooms in her resources. Another excellent addition is the Boom cards, perfect for when you have some early finishers, need a quiet center or don't want to use paper! Her videos show how to differentiate for the variety of learners. Whether you're a veteran teacher or just starting out, this program has something for everyone. I highly recommend grabbing it now!

This teacher toolkit is so well laid out and easy to use! I love that there is a short video to go with each of the activities to explain exactly how you could use them in the classroom, but they are also easily modifiable. It is great that there are activities that can be used in each part of the year, but these can also be revisited as the year progresses for independent practice. The activities are also completely relevant to teaching FSL, and align very nicely with the Science of Reading that we have all been focused on. I cannot wait to use them this week with my students and plan on introducing several activities for my students to keep them engaged during both my small group reading times and for my fast finishers.

I have used the activities in the classroom and found them to be so helpful. The students were engaged and ready to practice their sounds. They loved the headband game. The vowel song had them wanting to practice the vowels out of order. The kinesthetic aspect of the petits poèmes was a fun way to get moving and practice our sounds. This is a very engaging boîte a outils, and students can learn and participate in every aspect of their learning. I highly recommend using it!
